A small business with nine employees, aged between 23 and 65 and spread across two sites, wanted to improve team communication, create a greater sense of being part of one company and have some fun together. Their Breath of Fresh Air™ day included:
- Two facilitated walks, to enable workers to get to know more about one another's values, beliefs, strengths and drivers
- Team communication exercises – light outdoor activities to explore how the team work together and communicate together
- A creative team task
- An open space session to review what they had learnt about one another and the business and explore how their deeper understanding could make the business even more successful
- Participants felt closer and more connected as a team; understood their colleagues and were more aware of how to communicate with them effectively; recognised the others’
contribution to the team and what drives and motivates them; and built collective memories of a fun, enjoyable and productive summer event.
